Long Tail Keywords – The Secret to SEO

You’ve Got Mick!

SEO is a tricky beast. How do you come up with winning SEO strategy if all anyone ever tells you is to ‘rank in your keywords’? How do you rank in ‘your’ keywords when there’s so much competition? The answer: long tail keywords.

Long tail keywords are short phrases that narrow down the search results for those searching for the exact phrase you’ve used as your ‘keyword’. For example: Someone is searching the web for “Family cruise tee shirt”. If you happen to sell tee shirts with cruise-themed designs for the whole family, this would be a perfect long tail keyword for you.

This weeds out anyone looking for “tee shirt” or just “shirt”, which will hit on 1,000,001 websites selling shirts. You need to get specific!

The main gist of using long tail keywords is predicting what your customer is searching for.

One easy way to do this is to use a tool such as Keyword Researcher. Keyword Researcher does the work for you when it comes to finding long tail keywords. Their system ranks and rates keywords so you can plug them right in to your content. This type of system is extremely efficient at getting the most bang for your buck when coming up with keywords.

There are also many books on the subject of creating and finding long tail keywords. One book, Keyword Research: How to Find and Profit From Long Tail Keywords by Nathan George is a great resource for getting your creative juices flowing when writing long tail keywords. You can find the book on Amazon here for only $8.99!

Getting comfortable with the SEO game is something every internet entrepreneur needs to do. It’s just the way things work out here, so jump in and see what kinds of traffic you can drum up!

One final thought: Happy Monday!

Here’s some classic 90’s country to get you fired up – maybe not to ride bulls, but maybe to motivate you through this Monday!

Ergo, Ergo.

Sofia, is that you!?

One thing we often forget to think about as internet entrepreneurs is our actual working environment. We live inside our computer screens and consequently, sometimes forget about our actual workspace. The functionality and comfort of our workspace is as important to our success as the hours we put in researching, selling, creating content, etc…

If you’ve ever worked for a larger corporation, you’ve probably had an ‘ergo assessment’. If you haven’t, let me enlighten you. Ergo assessments are where a person (usually the health & safety officer) observes you working in your space. They will suggest adjustments to things like your desk chair, keyboard and screen height, and where you place your feet. If you haven’t had an ergo assessment, you can easily do one yourself. Here’s a handy chart to guide you:

There are also lots of great products you can buy to help your ergonomic setup. We’re big fans of lumbar bolsters and fully adjustable desk chairs, plus monitor stands. Here are a few of our favorites:

Dragonn Kneeling Chair – $149.95 (from Amazon)

Off-season training for your side hustle as a jockey.

When I was little, they had one of these chairs at my dad’s office. To say it was fun for an 8 year old is an understatement – just think how awesome you’ll look when you’re riding around on this ‘horsey’ at your office!

Everlasting Comfort Lumbar Cushion – $48.95 (from Amazon)

Does this lumbar support cushion make me look pretty?

Everyone’s seen these, and we all know why. They work. They’re supportive, they help keep you sittin’ up straight, and no one at the office will tease you for using this.

FEZIBO Standing Desk Balance Board – $64.99 (from Amazon)

“Gosh dang it, Randy… put your shoes back on!”

Okay, this may be a bit on the extreme side, but we do admit it looks fun. Standing at your desk all day while balancing on a wobbly board with foot massagers? Sure! It’ll definitely improve your core, bro!

One final thought – Keep it up. Do your tasks every day. Make yourself complete them. The more you do this, the easier it will be!

As a final treat, here is the video from the screenshot in the header. Sofia (real name Magdalena) was on Britain’s Got Talent for her crazy contortionist act. Watch until the end of her routine… trust me!

Social Media Marketing – The Book Roundup

The Queen of Social Media Marketing

Successful social media marketing doesn’t require extremes  à la Jenner, despite what social media may tell you. It requires persistence, tenacity, a little creativity, and maybe a bit of audacity.

Persistence: You.Have.To.Do.It.Every.Day. Whether it’s posting, commenting, liking, retweeting, or sharing, you have to participate in your social media marketing plan every single day. Algorithms and apps are programmed to promote those who post relevant content consistently. Just do it!

Tenacity: Don’t let them get you down. Keep doing your thing and the clients and customers will eventually come. Keep posting every day and pay little attention to critics, and pay little attention to your like or follow count. Just keep active on your social media accounts daily and those numbers will grow organically.

Creativity: Think outside the box! Comment and like competitor’s posts, comment sincerely on posts by those you’d like to attract as clients. This authenticity can go a long way in building your brand, and by thinking about how to creatively approach your target market, you are well on your way to being able to roll with the punches of social media.

Audacity: Is anyone more audacious than Ms. Jenner? Maybe her sister (which one)? Being a bit bold is great, especially if you stay on your message and don’t get dragged into negativity, controversy, or arguments. Use what you’ve learned by thinking creatively to determine how you can push the boundaries in your niche – be audacious!

E-Book Writing: Just jump in!

Don’t spill your coffee on that pretty white keyboard!

A short and sweet post here for Friday – enjoy!

Ebook writing can be a super lucrative way to begin your online business. The process is simple, and it’s outlined in The Laptop Millionaire in greater detail. Here is a quick, step-by-step guide on writing an Ebook. It’s faster and easier than you might think – you might even be able to publish one by the end of the weekend!

Steps to creating an Ebook:

  1. Develop an Idea – Look into which niche you’d like to write about. Is there a ‘pain point’ somewhere within the niche? For example, let’s pretend our Ebook will be about Traveling with kids. Parents would probably love to know how to be more organized and prepared to take a trip with kids of all ages. This is a pain point in the niche.
  2. Figure out 10 Top Questions – Ask friends, your social media contacts, google, etc… find 10 questions that need answering with regard to your topic. These can become the 10 chapters of your book.
  3. Answer the Questions – Here’s where the writing comes in. Open a document and type your 10 questions, fill in the blanks (expand on the answers). When you have answered all your questions, your Ebook has it’s ‘meat and potatoes’.
  4. Develop a Title, Author Page, etc... – This legitimizes your Ebook and starts your career as an Author. For help with this, you can look at current books you own, or Ebooks you’ve read in the past.
  5. Design a Cover or Cover Page – For help with this, visit Fiverr.com. Fiverr offers an amazing array of people offering their services starting at only $5. There are graphic designers, copywriters, social media promoters, etc… Fiverr operates on a ‘gig’ basis, where you hire a person to perform their ‘gig’ – graphic design, editing, etc..
  6. Publish – Create a PDF file of your work. There are many free online PDF converters if you don’t have the ability to do this with your writing program. You can also choose to publish a hard-copy version for sale. You can use Amazon CreateSpace or Kindle Direct. Here’s a great book on exactly how to publish on Amazon.
  7. Promote – Here’s the best part! Promote your Ebook by utilizing your blog, website, YouTube channel, mailing list, etc… Let us know in the comments the other ways you will use to market your Ebook, we’re always interested to hear of new marketing ideas!

Another option is to use an automated Ebook generator like Sqribble. This allows you to create tons of Ebooks in a short amount of time, thereby increasing your reach dramatically!

One final thought – Have a great weekend! Be productive, don’t be distracted. Focus your energy and you will reap the benefits!

Writing Copy – Boosting Sales by Being All Professional and Stuff.

Is it Taco Bell-thirty yet?

Hey guys, Like, this is the most awesome product you’ve evrrrr seen. You should totally buy it from our store and we’ll like, make sure we ship it out right away and stuff. It has some really cute things like features and colors and stuff! You’ll love it! Byeeeeee!

The copy above is what not to do. That should be obvious. The problem is, overly familiar copy is all too common today, which makes it easy to fall into the trap of unprofessional copywriting when listing products and services for sale online.

Why is this? Our hypothesis is because social media has created an atmosphere of false intimacy with those we follow. We see every aspect of their lives, whether they are a celebrity, or your brother’s sister-in-law-who-has-a-food-blog-that’s-really-popular. These little interactions, small as they may be, blur the lines between perception and reality.

What does this have to do with writing copy and product descriptions? This overly familiar atmosphere we live in creates a false perception that everyone is casual and wants to be spoken to (or advertised to) in a casual, familiar tone. The question becomes, do you want to be advertised to in this way? Would you prefer the product description copy in the heading above? Or would you prefer something a bit more, dare we say it, old fashioned? So… what are we supposed to do about it? Learn how to write better copy, that’s what! We’ve recently discovered a program through ClickBank University that teaches effective copywriting for only $7. That’s it. You’ll get all the training necessary to write quality copy, plus you can even learn how to tweak your marketing message to include familiar-sounding verbiage if you wish, but do it in the right way.

You can sign up for the program here.

Have you tried this program? Let us know in the comments!

One final thought: Tenacity and persistence are the names of the online marketing/laptop entrepreneur type. You have to put in the time every day. Once you create a routine, you’re able to complete more tasks, get more done, and make more money!

Here’s a great book on creating routines: Manage Your Day-to-Day: Build Your Routine, Find Your Focus, and Sharpen Your Creative Mind

Twitter Marketing – is it for you?

Bling bling birdie from edentalimage.com

Twitter, oh twitter. Where would the world be without Twitter? Would Donald Trump be president? Would Elon Musk have ever gone viral with the instant classic Don’t Doubt ur Vibe?

The Soapbox of the world, Twitter has created both a global community and amazing opportunity for internet marketing entrepreneurs. One of JVWebinars founders created a tee shirt business almost by accident using Twitter. An avid Euro-sport fan, he created a design for a tee shirt to poke fun at a particular athlete. He posted the design on Twitter to his 1100 followers (mostly friends and readers of his tiny blog) loved the idea. He didn’t even have a screen printer lined up, but received over $1000 in pre-order sales. He turned this one idea into a $250,000+ business – getting started on, and utilizing Twitter.

He’s not the only one who found success using twitter. Mom and Pop stores, medium and large businesses, bloggers, etsy sellers, musicians, you name it. They’ve all used Twitter to market themselves and their businesses, and many have made a fortune in the process.

There are so many great books about Twitter marketing – we love this one.

One of the other great ways to leverage Twitter in your online marketing activities is to use an automator tool. Automator tools can be an amazing way to schedule your Twitter posts, freeing up your time to do other tasks. One of our favorite tools is the AutoTweet system.

AutoTweet makes it super easy to automate your Twitter posts. This allows you to utilize your time more effectively and concentrate on bigger things. It virtually eliminates the need for outsourcers or employees to post on your behalf. This tool is great for small businesses looking to increase their online presence while keeping staff on task. We could see it used as a marketing tool for medical offices, dental offices, small local businesses, even schools. The possibilities and applications are endless with this tool, which runs $19.99 per month. This is an absolute bargain when you compare it to the cost of paying a real, live human to do this work. Set it up with the tweets you want, and let it do the rest.

You can sign up for AutoTweet using this link.

Have you tried AutoTweet? Let us know what you think about it, or the idea of using an automator tool to manage your Twitter feed in the comments below!

The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason –

Shhh, he keeps all the money under his turban!

The O.G. personal finance / wealth building book, TRMiB is an absolute classic. It tells the story of Arkad, a poor scribe who eventually becomes the richest man in Babylon. After getting sick of being broke all the time, he sees his old friend who teaches him the rules wealthy people follow to keep and grow their money. This book teaches very basic principles of wealth building, such as saving 1/10 of all you earn. This concept, paired with a very entertaining story (especially for those who love history), is a perfect place to start in your wealth building journey.

The Richest Man in Babylon is also available in Audiobook format from Audible!

The Millionaire Next Door by Dr. Thomas J. Stanley –

Wanna jump up in my Lamborghini Gallardo?

Just because your neighbor doesn’t drive a Range Rover or Lambo doesn’t mean he’s not a millionaire. In this book by Dr. Thomas Stanley and Dr. William Danko, we learned that most millionaires in the US are actually stealth-wealthy. This means that although they can ‘afford’ it, they are unlikely to live flashy lifestyles. This book is an eye-opener as to who exactly the wealthy in America actually are, and what they do with their money. This book is a great read for those who are just starting out in business, as it proves not all that glitters is gold.

The Millionaire Next Door is available on Amazon here.

This book is also available in Audiobook format from Audible!
